Yeah, I almost posted about this last night.
For me, I'm interested in things like KDE 3.x (Trinity) and Gnome 2.x (Mate) forks, and at the same time I'm reluctant to get too involved with them not knowing how long they might last, or which direction they themselves might head. Of course you never really know those things about the current KDE and Gnome official projects, either.
I might play around with Trinity a bit on a future weekend when I have some spare time. From looking at the screenshots on their website, it looks a bit outdated in appearance, but if it works well that might not matter all that much.oz

- 11-02-2011 #3Kinda like me and old choppers. It may not be the latest and flashiest. But it gets you there and are reliable also. I might play a bit also later with this.it looks a bit outdated in appearance, but if it works well that might not matter all that much.Linux Registered User # 475019

I'd be interested in your feedback on it (or anyone else's as well)

Howdy back atcha Brian. It will be awhile before I install it in my AntiX 11 IBM T23 Laptop. I got some oil changes scheduled plus some other chores this week. Maybe later this weekend. I will post my install method and opinions at the AntiX forum when I get around to it.

Since I am on Wheezy using Testing, That the KDE 4 (which I don't have installed) from Wheezy don't want me to install Trinity. Followed the sites instructions for install . Oh well. I'll comment the repos out and stick with Fluxbox and do a dist-upgrade to the newer fluxbox instead.Code:Repos: Active apt sources in file: /etc/apt/sources.list deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ testing main contrib non-free deb http://security.debian.org/ testing/updates main contrib non-free deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org testing main non-free deb http://ppa.quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net/trinity/trinity-v3.5.13/debian squeeze main deb-src http://ppa.quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net/trinity/trinity-v3.5.13/debian squeeze main deb http://ppa.quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net/trinity/trinity-builddeps-v3.5.13/debian squeeze main deb-src http://ppa.quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net/trinity/trinity-builddeps-v3.5.13/debian squeeze mainLinux Registered User # 475019

Yeah, I too have decided to pass on it, at least for the time being. Maybe later, after it's had time to mature a bit and solidify, I'll look into it again.
