    Welcome.

I hope you'll enjoy exploring Linux as much as I have. Remember that Linux is not Windows and ask questions when you get stuck. There are plenty of people here ready to help.

Thanks for the reply Peter, yeah im fully aware it isnt Windows. Ive tried converting a few people to try Linux live disks, but they cant get by the part where you have to explain to them windows doesnt exist. It doesnt run on windows or needs windows to run. .....nevermind

Hi..welcome to the forums . I was noob like one and half years ago but I have learnt a lot . I suggest you to install Ubuntu and come here to ask questions if you find any problems .

I bet you would never go back to windows (Vista ohh )

the HUGE change that came a few years back was running 'live cd'

all of a sudden any idiot including myself could try out a buncha linux stuff,

after win, it's kids in a candy store with no end to goodies

all of a sudden, all you had to do was burn a cd, fire it up and up came a linux desktop,

then it took me about a year to figure out a wifi connection..

all easy now though and no excuses anymore for anyone to not run linux, or just get going,

best to ask questions though, ..easy to mess up stuff when starting,

going from win to linux is clicks away these days, for anyone already running win on the net
