The forum software only allows for polls with up to 10 options, but clearly we need to replace "blackbox" with "windowmaker" in the poll for next year!

Something strange has happened. I'm running KDE and now that I have made it work like a desktop, got rid of the cashew by installing the wonderfully named widget "iHATEtheCashew" it is running well, even on my laptop which is normally brought to it's knees by KDE. Interestingly the Cashew (which just sits and waits for mouse clicks) was making the machine work so hard that the fans were always on! I'm running Fedora 17 which is right on the raggedy edge of modern software so I don't know if it is an updated graphics driver, the latest KDE or something the Fedora devs have done to KDE.

I'm not hating it but given my attention span, let's see how long it lasts
    What do we want?
    Time machines!

    When do we want 'em?
    Doesn't really matter does it!?

    Yes, that is interesting!

I've not thought about eliminating the cashew but might look into doing that. Otherwise, KDE4 seems to be running the best it ever has for me, even though I've not been a fan of KDE since the release of KDE4. If they keep making improvements, I might eventually become a true fan again.

It would be nice if a voter could change his/her vote in the poll as they change the GUI on their systems, but unfortunately the forum software wont allow for that. Perhaps doing so will be possible in a future version of the software.

Cinnamon (both in Ubuntu and Mint). I did not fall in love with Unity

Why put yourself through the torture? Unless your into that sorta stuff??
Why not run Trinity Desktop (KDE3) which i am assuming you do like?

What does cashew do? All i seem to think about when you refer to cashew is the cashew nuts that you eat...! So its making me a little hungry

Cashew has a couple of uses.

    1. take up screen real estate while waiting to present a menu of options relating to widgets
    2. use inordinate cpu time
