It's another good popcorn movie probably worth at least a rental.

Looks like my kinda movie, chics, guns, mayhem, I might have to check that one out.

I watched a couple of good movies earlier this evening:

    Blood Simple. (1984) - IMDb

    Winter's Bone (2010) - IMDb

Blood Simple is getting some age on it being made back in 1984 but I had never seen it, and the movie didn't feel dated in any way.

Both movies are of the mystery/thriller genre and quite good. I'd recommend a rental at the very least for each of them.

Last night, I watched 13 Assassins:

    13 Assassins (2010) - IMDb

Have any of you seen it? It's supposed to be a really good movie and has a fairly high rating at IMDB.com, but I wasn't able to get into it all that much. I might try it again in a few days when I'm more in the mood for such a movie.

Interesting that it is the 1st Coen bros. movie...that is certainly another good reason to consider giving it a look.

Yeah, I probably wouldn't have checked it out, but after viewing and enjoying A Woman, a Gun, and a Noodle Shop, and then finding out that it was a remake of Blood Simple, I had to see how the two compared. There is quite a lot of tension and suspense build up in both movies, and you can see the wheels turning in the minds of certain characters with both movies. Good stuff...

I just finished watching Unleashed for the first time, starring Jet Li, Morgan Freeman, and Bob Hoskins:

    Unleashed (2005) - IMDb

As always, Freeman was good in his role, but Jet Li put on a great performance in this one. The video and audio were really good, and the martial arts were done very well with plenty of action sequences, especially at the beginning and the end of the film.

Recommended for at least a rental.

    Just watched Rambo...

    Rambo (2008) - IMDb

Lots of good action in Rambo 4, and plenty of gun shots, loud explosions, blood splatters, and violence if you like such movies. If you have a good audio system, this movie should test it quite well. Stallone clearly still has it in him, even if he is getting a bit older!

Edit: oh, and I highly recommend the "Extended Cut" version of the movie!

I watched one yesterday that is supposed to be really good (as can be seen by the IMDB rating), but I wasn't able to get into it although some of you might like it:

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) - IMDb

I've always preferred Jim Carrey's acting skills when he's in serious roles more so than the silly ones, and he's fairly serious in this movie, but the story is a bit hard to follow even though I do understand why it was done the way it was.

Maybe worth checking out if you are a Jim Carrey fan!
