Jay - this is a weird question, IMO...
It is a user preference issue for sure! Me, I like SciFi, Action-Adventure, and genuinely weird stuff.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
Just remember, Semper Gumbi - always be flexible!

Well, I'd say anything with a strong cast, good acting and good production value.
The story is a give & take... I can deal with an over-done story. eg., boy meets-gets girl, defeating rival.
I like everything from Casablanca up through the Transformers movies (all 3).
All that said, I'd say that some of my faves are some thrillers from Asia (China, Japan and Taiwan). The mood is set by the lighting and music, Hitchcock-style.
I didn't think it was weird.

A sci-fi thriller kung-fu western would do it for me
If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate! (Zapp Brannigan)
My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

Sci-fi and action. But I always like commedies that make you laugh until you cry, great classics like:
Top Secret!
The Party
The Great Race
Airplane!

Besides Sci Fi ,(because I like to escape reality when watching a movie).
I have a weakness for Chinese Period Pieces like Curse of the Golden Flower or Red Cliff
Because they are pretty well done and are full of color and intrigue. They remind me of older movies like The Wind and the Lion and Taras Bulba that I enjoyed years ago.
I guess escaping is a big deal for me. Still waiting on new Ridley Scott movie also.
Forgot to mention
A Woman, a Gun and a Noodle Shop
was pretty funny and done well also.Last edited by rokytnji; 02-14-2012 at 01:23 AM.
