How about using a photograph of a medium-sized sailing ship (a caravel)?

That would be a clever but rather sly way of showing your name. I don't think many would pick up on it, unless they new sailing ships.

Mine is just a picture of a family of Blue Jays which i liked because of what the picture suggests. They are all on a deck or fence, and the parents look like they are talking and the kids look like they are telling them we're bored.

Other than that i am interested in Bird Behaviour.

    Bird behaviour.
That reminds me of a cartoon I saw about thirty years ago. The title was "A bird's eye view of the world." Everything had targets on them.

I've looked for that in the past but decent images, that can be made into avatars, are hard to come by...

These might be useful, or perhaps not. I think 2 and 3 would make good avatars.

Very nice. Before I make a decision - any caravels among your collection?

Best I have in my collection. Sorry. Unless you are interested in ancient Egyptian watercraft.
Besides, an avatar does not need to be perfect. A reasonable facsimile is enough for most people.
