    What is the problem? *buntu derivatives are based on Ubuntu, which is based on Debian. You are already using a Debian-based system. If anything, your beloved will be improved.

    I don't run Xubuntu, but I'd likely consider this good news if I did.

    If Debian didn't/doesn't work for you, it's more than likely some configuration issue, or a matter of not having certain needed packages installed.

    I agree with Randicus. If Xubuntu is changing to Debian your system will be improved. You won't have to worry about the impending doom of having to use Unity, not that Unity is bad, just that GNOME2 is better :P

    Although debian can be a ***** sometimes to set-up, i remember when i first tried debian, it annoyed the crap out of me because i couldn't get my darn internet to work despite the fact i liked the Debian
