Hello, fellow people.
Hello, everyone. I'm Tom. I've been lurking for some time, and you seem like nice enough people from a distance, so I thought I'd say hello. I'm sure you all know, but this forum's a great resource to many anonymous linux novices like myself who probably never say anything, and just search it for answers forty-five times a day.
About a month ago, I decided I couldn't reconcile my feelings about corporate resposibility regarding software with my continued use of Windows, so I took a plunge and installed Mint 13 - MATE on my Thinkpad. Having relied heavily on Windows PC's in my education and work, and admittedly been very, very averse to OS change, I was in over-my-head from the word 'go'.
I'm running the surprisingly novice-friendly Ubuntu 12.04 now, but I'm playing around with other distros, and reading/learning as I go along.
