I have been using systemd for quite a while on openSUSE and I don't find anything complicated about it compared to sysvinit.

It was a bit of learning to do, no more than I have to do normally when dealing with different hardware platforms or aeroplanes or cricket coaching techniques.
It's just a case of familiarity. Once you become familiar with it there is no problem.

Things change, we adapt and we get on with what we have to do.

That's the way it has been for me over the last 42 years and around 12 different OS's.
