    Sorted my issues

I have formatted all drives and now have them partitioned neatly. Re-installed pinguy and installed the latest ati drivers and my freezing/boot up issues seem to be solved. The drivers arnt 100% but the computer does run lots better.

Ive left a small partition of 130gb for any future linux distros i want to try out.

Also when i cleaned out the pc I found a broken sata cable which i think was causing gparted issues when it was trying to scan for disks! Replaced and pc is running sweet.

Emergency is over for the time being but i really need to find some ebook or website that can teach a noob the basics

    Cheers

    You could try these:

    I hope that helps.

I always recommend http://rute.2038bug.com/index.html.gz as it's such a wealth of information. It starts off with the basics and then moves onto move complicated topics.
