Hello, All. Glad to be here!
I have finally gotten brave enuff to dump Windows and am installing Fedora 17.0, hope that this turns out to be the best thing I have ever done. Am not new to computers by any means, but can't get any newer to Linux. Hope you all have some patience and answers (in that order), thanx.

welcome to the new freedom of linux
Hiya,
I am sure that within a month you will be trying other distros. There lies the freedom of linux. It cost you nothing at all to try and hopefully expand a distro user base.
If you look at the forum you will see that there are so many people out there to answer you questions. I dont think you will have many as most distros now have paved the way to make it easy to install and if you want co exist with other players (WINDOWS) hmm.
Fedora is fantastic for you because it has massive support and never short of a buff or two to offer advice.
I say "Enjoy your experience with linux and be proud that your one of those people who knows their machines desires "hehe
If you want to venture into more distros always check out their software respository............... how easy is it to install software.
also check out forum support...... you dont want to be struggling
