Record Breaking Skydive

If all goes as planned, he'll be the first person to ever break the sound barrier without propulsion, or the benefit of a protective vehicle. Sounds kind of scary to me, so hope he lives through it.

I think he's insane. Brave but insane. Good luck to the man who has already done an 18 mile test dive!
(watch that first step; it's a doozy!)If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate! (Zapp Brannigan)

Looks like they are putting it off for another day due to windy conditions. I can certainly understand how everything would need to be as near perfect as possible for such a feat.

They've delayed the balloon launch until tomorrow because right at the last minute during the attempt made yesterday, winds picked up just a bit and twisted the extremely thin material that the balloon is made from causing its integrity to be in doubt. Hopefully, things will go as planned tomorrow and he will have a successful launch, jump, and landing.

I've been away for a few days and haven't had access to any news, but it appears that he made it. I read that his record breaking jump also shattered a YouTube record:
