Just finished watching Lost in Translation for the first time ever:
Lost in Translation (2003) - IMDb
It moves pretty slowly throughout the film, but it was still good. Bill Murray did a great job with his role in the film, and Scarlett Johansson was as adorable as ever.oz

I watched my VHS copy of " Cookies Fortune " last night. This movie stars Glenn Close, Julianne Moore, and Charles Dutton!
I need to remember to get the DVD from Amazon on my next order!AntiX 12 and PCLinuxOS gnome

Found Skyline to be better than most folks thought. I liked it.
But then. Some like Blue Cheese and some don't. That does not mean Blue Cheese is bad.

Yeah Mike, old people like me still have VHS tapes! A lot of old movies were never put onto DVD and I have boxes of stuff taped
from public television. I too gave away a lot of VHS tapes to libraries and relatives but I still watch them every now and then.AntiX 12 and PCLinuxOS gnome

I watched The Eagle earlier this evening:
The Eagle (2011) - IMDb
It wasn't a great film, but the story was interesting and it offered some very nice Scottish scenery. Worthy of at least a rental or borrow from a friend.oz

Not just old folks... I still use my VCR. And I amazed my nephew a while back... showed him the first season of the Transformers cartoon (complete, in order) that, as a kid, I recorded on tape in 1984.
There's also a few movies that, like you say, are hard to find on DVD!Jay

DVD movies will be next in line to become obsolete. Not too long back, when I'd go to the local Sam's Club, they had a huge display of DVD movies, but very few Blu-ray movies. Now, it has gone the other way, and there are lots of Blu-ray movies, but not so many DVD movies.
The thing is, they are already working really hard on the technology that is intended to replace Blu-ray!
