Linux Newbie @ 56, any prizes for that?

    Hello All,
I joined the Linux world about 6 - 8 months ago, (only Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, thus far) and am very impressed with the stability, speed, security & ease at which it runs on my 10 year old Laptop....Intel 1.8MHz, 2GB Ram & 60GB Hdd.. However, the more I read, the more I realize how little I know.
So, I'm here to try & increase my practical knowledge & hopefully by the time I'm 60, I'll qualify for some kind of geek status...

In my opinion, you earned a it of geek credit when you installed Linux to your computer.

Welcome to the forum. If you check the polls, you will see the upper age bracket is well represented. Glad to have you join us, what took you so long?

Life's curved balls...and at my age, it's sometimes difficult to duck, so you get hit by a few! Well recovering now!

Maybe we should have a poll as to what age we started linux? I started at 57.

I just received a message from jayd512 (Mod) - 1st prize is an E-Book on Linux jargon...

Hey! Maybe we'll inspire some developer to write a Linux for the aged, Touch Screen O/S?
