Excellent problem (with shoes)
Terry the Shoe Seller is retiring after 42 years of service. He has some leftover shoes that are very high quality and need to be used, so he gives them to the [insert favorite charity] in [insert favorite region].
Terry the Shoe Seller has 252 shoe boxes with excellent shoes, and he tapes them shut with [insert favorite tape]. Each box is 1x2x3x, each x being 4.5 inches, or 11 centimetres, so 4.5x9x13 or 11x22x32.
How many of these shoe boxes can he and his grumpy Aunt Mathilde fit in a 48"x48"x48" crate?
Peace and Cheer.

BTW Grumpy Aunt Mathilde is very lazy but clever.

Excellent! I can see myself wasting a lot of time on this classic example of the packing problem!
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
Just remember, Semper Gumbi - always be flexible!
