    Welcome to the forums. You can go to distrowatch.com to see and read about a number of different linux distro's. On the right hand side of the page, below the ads, is a list of the top 100 distro's. Mint is currently #1, Mageia #2, etc. They also have a search function to help you narrow down what you are looking for.

    Thanks for the link - I'm having a look at the tutorials- they seem pretty good!
