Pray, give money, send a email telling how you care... what ever it is you do let them be in our hart and our minds.

Echo that absolutely but so far I've only given a little. I will give more later.

I'm really pleased at the response of the International Community including, for once, the British Government which has now I understand pledged 50 million pounds.

It is easy to forget that when disasters like this happen people don't just die but the lives of those that are left behind are ruined not only emotionally but also financially. People have lost their means of even making the small incomes they once made.

Whilst I do not question or disagree with the aid going towards those affected,
why is it not one word has been said about the animals who were affected?
And why can't the money go towards vets bills as well for the injured?
It seems animals are always forgotten in times of crisis.

Another thing, why is the UK media obsessed with saying the UK has raised the most money so far?
To them it's like a competition,pathetic.

Of course if we think about it we know that thousands of many animals have been affected but when so many human lives have been destroyed I think it is understandable that most of us have not given much thought about animals. You might be upset but I hadn't thought about animals at all until I read your post but, sorry, that won't change my hope that aid is heavily concentrated towards helping humans and only then to help animals.

As for your second point: a. I hadn't realised there was bragging going on in the press about respective countries contributions. I only mentioned the british contribution because i was pleased that for once it appeared the British govt appeared to be doing the right thing.

b. if there is bragging then if that shames some countries in doing more, good!
