Hey all my name is Rick and I just finally set up my first Linux box. Loving it.

I worked at Microsoft as a lab tech, and Support Admin for SQL for years. I am now working for another company and have a reason to learn Linux on my way to Python.

So far I have had a great time figuring this out and working with terminal. Seems I have lots to learn and also trying to keep from typing windows shell commands, hey DIR works..heh heh.

Glad to have found this place and time to get back to my terminal window..

Hi there, welcome. It's always good to give asylum to a defector...

You can always use the bash 'alias' command to change your DIR command into something that echoes rudeness to remind you not to use those commands
