Watched the whole season of True Detective in one sitting. It Blew me away.

Being from the South myself and having traveled those areas (my oldest Boy is in New Orleans and inlaws are in Mississippi and Alabama)
I can say it caught the flavour quite well.

The latest 24 season has been amazing. I know a lot of people are torn by the seasons. I personally enjoyed seasons 3, 7, and 8 the most where others thought 4 and 5 were the best. I hated 4 and only liked some parts of 5. Pretty cool, huh?

This thread seems a bit dead, so if there's a newer version of it elsewhere, please let me know!

Anyways, I just watched "Nirvana in Fire" or Langya Bang. It's a recent Chinese show about Old China and a power-struggle between two princes striving to be chosen as the next emperor. It's a drama with occasional unexpected fighting sequences, but a very clean show. Rewatching a few of the fifty-some episodes really struck me with how well-done the show is! You can watch it on Viki with English Subtitles, and if you have APB or Ublock Origins you won't get add-interruptions.

There are some shows I watch over and over again like ST:TNG and Bones whenever I see them on.
And new shows I watch are Scorpion, The Flash and NCIS.
It is a good thing I have DVR for skipping commercials.

From a VOD service I've seen (again) all the season of LOST in the last 2 months. I love it

I really enjoyed the first few seasons of Lost, then they started getting all weird, so I stopped.
By weird, I mean the thing with the black cloud.

    yes, definitely recommended.
    season 1 that is.
beautiful, dark, unsettling and also ugly and horrible as hell.

Im guessing you've all watched MR Robot? by far one of the best series in a while.

tbh, there's a few things i find EXTREMELY annoying about mr robot.

    - there's the ridiculous impact it had on the linux community for one.

    - the whole "righteous-but-hurt-and-paranoid-teenager" thing (look up righteous).

    - it's both YACT (yet another conspiracy theory) and smacks of first-world-problem

    - even though they're "typing out real linux commands" and it is more realistic than the usual hollywood hacker stuff, it still isn't realistic. in other words, the characters as well as some of the viewers are suffering from delusions of grandeur.

BUT - the plot is rather twisting & interesting, and while my main points of criticism have NOT changed from season 1 to season 2, season 2 is indeed quite different from season 1.

and i like to keep an eye on what moves the youngest generation.
