I can be found either 40 miles west of Chicago, in Chicago, or in a galaxy far, far away.

Well, my wife dragged my ass down to a little dive near the Chicago Loop on thursday night to see some of our younger traditional music friends perform. A good show, and it WAS a dive - located in an industrial area of Chicago, it had a small bar in front, a dance floor in back with a small bandstand. We got there early so we had real seats and a table on the side of the floor! For a thursday show, it was well packed, mostly with a young crowd. Since we knew all of the musicians, we were viewed as the "respected elders" I think! Great music - it is really nice to see that the new generation is carrying on with the "old" tunes and stuff, and that there is an audience for them!
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
Just remember, Semper Gumbi - always be flexible!

Switching from all the Brazilian I've been listening to, to some R&B grooves.

Macy Gray's Big CD and Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite.

The Maxwell CD is a great smoldering grooves to do any kind of work.
