    Question block usb storage enable USB data card in ubuntu 12.04 Desktop


    Hi,

    I have installed Ubuntu 12.04 Desktop but want to block usb and enable USB data card in ubuntu.

    Perhaps you could be clearer about what you're trying to achieve. If you want to add a mobile usb connection you won't "block" usb to do it. You plug your dongle in, go to your network configuration and add "Mobile Broadband" and then follow the instructions.

    Hi ,
    Thanks for reply. I have edited /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf and added the line blacklist usb-storage but this disables all USB devices except USB keyboard and USB mouse. And my USB data card dosent get detected. I just want no one should not read or write on USB storage part.
