Tired of spyware and adware. I actually still use Windows for my work. But it takes a lot more work to maintain it, keeping it free of spyware and adware. Where as with Linux it is just a lot of fun exploring around, and seeing all the different things I can do with it.

well for me it was the fact that viruses in windows just became an exepted thing. so windows solution was to make a program that would check to see if you have an anti-virus software and warn you if you dont. also i dont know if you noticed this but there were far too many programs for windows that you realy dont need yet were advertised to seem that you do. you know, you would see this website and it would have tons of prety picture that usualy had nothing to do with anthing. (like a smiling woman with a tree in the background. for example, have you ever heard of "go to my pc.com"

also not to mention all the crapware that computer assemblers put on the machine when you buy it pracktivly forcing you to reinstall windows when you buy it (or something else like linux ) you know, stuff like crappy media players that turned out to be windows media players with the dell name scotch-taped to it.

some retarded guy "dude, your gettin a dell!"
me "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! uke:

You know when ever i hear this it has always surprised me!
I know that there are far too many viruses for windows but what about linux?
NOTE : I am not supporting windows when i say this.
The way i see it computer users who like to play arround with the os and the computer settings and the prople who like a challenge are the once that move to windows. These are the same kind of things that Hackers and people who are making stupid things like viruses have in common. People who use windows are most likely to be people that are not interested in computers that much and people who use linux are a little more advanced users. I am not saying that all windows users are people that dont like the computer and all linux users are people that are more advanced with computers, but most...

wouldnt there be more viruses fore linux then for windows because linux users are mostly the people that like to play arround with the computers and like challenges and are mostly advanced users.

This is my opinion, please feel free to oppose me if you think that i am wrong.

I do think you are wrong, mostly because of the fact that there are NOT more viruses for Linux than MS Windows. In fact, I have yet to see a virus targeted at Linux in the wild. There have be a few proof-of-concept exploits that prove someone *could*, but they were written for the express purpose of fixing holes.

The hacker community that surrounds Linux actually keeps malicious software away rather than proliferates it. Linux is inherently more secure (both IMO and according to the Register) because if some spammer in Timbuktu decides to write adware for Linux, not only are most users of Linux bright enough not to install it, but whatever exploit the software uses can easily be plugged by one of the millions of developers that use and work on Linux every day.
