    Hello!

Hello! I am new to this forum, but not to Linux. I migrated to Linux in 1993 with Soft Landing. I have loved the joy and fun Linux , emacs, and LaTeX has brought me. I have been on Debian since Debian 2, but lately, I have been looking for something I still understand -- less systemd and GNOME and KDE and such. I like text configuration files.

Welcome! I remember Debian Potato, it was my first Debian. ReiserFS was a novelty. Give Gentoo a shot.

I really did not want to upgrade from Potato. With a name like Potato, it has to be good. "Heh! I've got a potato on my desk." The following version was Woody. That doesn't sound the same.
