how long....
Im an old timer from IBM. Repaired 703's. (Thats when computers used vaccum tubes...)
Then SEL computers , later Gould (Unix) .. and Linux when it all started..... now Im using it in my PC.
I look for an alternative to MS Windows. I think using command lines is nonsense for most uses. And I enjoy/love to program and experiment. GUI's save a lot of work and provide for consistency.

well I only has been using Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 (and now 3.1) since 2004/7. I don't even know what GNU/Linux is before. Most of the words from others tell me sounded as if it's something totally unusable, and because of that I never bothered tried this much better thing
