I think it's been slashdotted a number of times. I first found it through slashdot as Elitelinux before the big FCC approved forum merger. My stock went through the roof.

I've noticed a slight expansion as well since Elitelinux. I used to really like the homely feel back then. Like, you knew they were new because they used your nickname `Spinx' and not your real name. Okay, well, maybe it wasn't that small....

Do we have a policy of removing users that have been inactive for a certain period of time?

Wow! I can remember this thread from when I first joined.

I suspect a lot of people 'join' the forums, post a few times and then leave. I wonder how many of them 'stick it out' and visit often to answer questions?

Got to go and work my backside off for the rest of the day. See yas!

I keep visiting the forum in the hope there might be something basic enough for me to answer!

I hope not, I kind of abandoned the forums for a while because I got caught back up in school, look at me now, posting like mad. If we did, it would be unfair to those of us just taking a break for real life, but I think maybe if you are under 50-100 posts and haven't posted in 90 days or something we should remove the account.

Yeah, you can't really delete old users...maybe after a year or two of inactivity, but still, some people read quite a bit, but don't post much. I visit the site daily, minus some weekends, and read quite a bit. I answer what I can, comment on things that I feel value is added...even if I was gone for a few months (from this forum), I would like to know my account would still be active...

I disagree. I post from time to time when I have a problem or have an answer to one, but most of the time I just lurk and suck the knowledge in. I'd have been cut out quite a few times if that was the case .
