In SuSE the system just appears as a dual-processor system. Only slight advantage i have seen is that it no longer seems to "stutter" as much while burning dvd's and surfing net/listening to music at the same time.

I'm an AMD man all the way.
Intel was king "back in the day" but they are falling behind now. They were at the top, first ones to use the L1 and L2 cache at the same time, first ones to use the L3 too. Pentium Pros, PII's, all revolutionary. If you look at PC hardware history you will see the Intel was at the top and AMD was the lesser cousin to all Intel procs. Now it's pretty much the exact opposite.. AMD is the choice of a new generation (especially those who custom build). I will say that there is nothing more stable than an Intel board, Intel proc, and MS Windows, they all go together quite nicely which is why you see Dell's and things of that nature with that set up.Registered Linux user #393103
