I agree, I didn't get a date till I was 18, part of the problem of going to an all boys school, but they came thick and fast after that, and the longest I have been single since then has been 3months.

Edit: she complained, "you can't play sims on linux", we can't afford cedega...

Well, that was less than helpful.
    man date
All that gave was a bunch of stuff about time settings.
So much for TUX helping me get a date.

omg, LOL at this thread. here is my nerd date joke:

I was with this girl since like 95. She looked good on the outside and liked to do lots of fun stuff. but now see has all kinds of STDs, which leaves her feeling BLUE all the time. She was also very high maintinance. Now I have a new girl. She is very OPEN minded and loves to try new things. She doesen't have the STD problem the other girl had. Heck we don't even have to worry about protection! And she even gets along good with the old girl. Life is good

    designbydave, I applaud your geekhood.

As for me, I broke up with my girlfriend of 5 months on 12/26/04. She was a kind of maddening, cling-on-to-you, suffocate-you, and end-your-life type of person. When I realized that I was losing all my friends and that she had the IQ of a gnat, I had to get out.

But let it be said that before i realized these things, it was a wonderful relationship.

That said, I am so dissapointed in teenagers. I had a bunch of friends over, and after all but 3 girls had left, they were talking about how one of the guys (we'll call him Mr. X) had said something to one of the girls (Ms. Y) that she found ridiculous, and frankly, entirely not appropriate. This conversation ended with Ms. Y saying "Oh, but it sure would be cool to date him [Mr. X]". I couldn't believe it.

Yeah, my problem is that I fall into the Friends Zone far too often. The girl who I was chasing for a while has me on her Tech Support list, and the other girl who I might have a chance at already has a boyfriend. Who happens to be a good friend of mine. Grr.

But yeah, I'm very much a happy, attention-giving, nice, intelligent, frequently-considered-a-flaming-homosexual type person, the last apparently based on the former (for the record, I am not :-p).

    Gah. I'll never understand people.
