Debunking the "Nerds don't get dates" Myth...
Yes, so I'm bored today guys and gals. In light of some other polls that seem to have an endless stream of responses (how old are you, sex call, etc), I thought I'd start one that's of personal interest to me. You're all welcome to share stories (within the forum rules of course) of past "significant others". If you answer yes, you're also welcome to mention how long you've been single unless it's so long it's embarassing.

Been married twice, and just had a rather painful breakup with a special someone. Guess time will tell if I get back into the game again.

Right around this time girls turn like 25 or so, they realize that nerds/geeks are the best lovers. They'll ditch the high-school, foot-ball stud for one us as soon as they realize:
1) We're not busy getting drunk and watching football, while commenting on how much they don't look like the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders
2) We have jobs, rather then pit stained wife beater t-shirts.
3) We take care of *all* our stuff, not just our 1982 T-Top Trans-Am.
4) We don't shoot barrels, glass bottles, old cars, kittens or anything else for that matter
5) We show appriciation and respect to our girlfreinds
6) We don't have a criminal record
7) We're not stuck re-living our "glory days" of high school, we're out living the glory days of today!
8 ) We can carry on an intellegent conversation
9) We have all of our teeth
10) Nerds/geeks make the best dads.
In short, we take care of our ladies/families like we take care of our computers, and we all know how well nerds/geeks take care of those!!

Nice said jeremy! I have been single waaay too long, I'm just 14, but I had six different girlfriends (not at once) when I was 11 years old (never before, and never since
)... Hey, but if someonce interested, it won't hurt to make contact

What can I say? Jeremy has it all down. As much as I would rather consider myself a punk rocker (for aesthetic sake). But yeah, I currently have had a girlfriend for four weeks or so. She's really sweet...
Though usually I'm single just because I rarely find someone intelligent enough to be worth dating. You know how it is.

Well, I brought this up because for the last 6 months or so I've been going on more dates than I ever have (I don't actually like "dating", my past relationships just sort of happened). My biggest problem is that the women I find in the 22-29 age group do not follow the logic Jeremy mentioned. There's an awful lot of men and women in their 20s right now that simply refuse to grow up. The most popular line I get after a successful series of dates is "I'm just not ready for a relationship right now".
Meanwhile, I'm still looking. Adopt, adapt, and improve.

I'm currently single, but I just got out of a relationship very recently.
There should be a "I've never had a date" option, hehe.
- 04-08-2005 #9Well, I'm trying to debunk the myth, not reinforce it.
