Upgraded SuSE because I wanted to, I had $80 to spare, and having the latest and greatest makes me feel important.

I'm a relative Linux noob but my first distro was Gentoo. I used it for about a month but I soon got tired of microconfiguring everything (what's funny is that was the reason I wanted to give it a try). I now use Ubuntu which pretty much on the other end of the spectrum. But I'm loving it.

i upgraded for FC3 and suse to gentoo because i wanted to know what the heck i was doing. When I first started with those distros everything basically worked. But when something didn't work I had no idea how to edit config files or change other basic linux stuff. So i switched and learned the hard way---actually having to do it myself. I now at least understand when something is wrong and can post the problem. previously i would have a problem and have no idea what the problem even was besides the standard. "My xxxx doesn't work."
All right, brain. You don't like me and I don't like you, but let's just do this and I can get back to killing you with beer. All New Users Read This!!! If you have a grub problem please look at GRUB MANUAL

I don't actually switch to another distro, I just add one on.

I gotta ask... why? oO
- 04-29-2005 #10Haha. I've asked the same question. He's just strange like that. Competent in the extreme, and a very skillful software developer.. but odd nonetheless.
