microcenter here in GA sells Linspire PCs, but I wiped in with Mandrake anyways... Linspire wouldn't detect any of my peripherals...

Go to EBAY, there are TONS of computers out there that either have no OS or are being re-sold, so MS probably won't get a penny...

I live near Houston, TX. They have an EPO wholesale / retail outlet that will sell components or ready made boxes that do not have Win?? installed or the licensing fee.

I would guess similar companies are available in most cities.

fry's electronics sells linspire atleast. well one this that Microsoft used to do acouple of years ago is require companies that buy thier OS to install on thier PC's is to under the contract only be allowed to install windows. they couldnt send a PC out the door without windows or with another OS installed. it may still be that way i am not sure. i know when i went online i say that dell, HP, gateway, and sony only sell Windows and you cant buy one without an OS.

update:looks as if if you buy as a business customer you can get linux preinstalled on HP's site. on some of the higher end workstations dell sells redhat WS.
