Just a little off topic general discussion, but I noticed a new Dream Theater album came out not too long ago, which was a surprise to me (I wasn't expecting it). Any other DT fans on the forums?
I bought the album and am totally stoked about it...listened to it a couple times, and I really love it (much better than their last, I feel). I feel dumb posting this on a linux-based forum, but I have to rant to SOMEONE.

That is why we have the Coffee Lounge.
I have never heard of Dream Theater, what type of music do they play? How to know if you are a geek.
when you respond to "get a life!" with "what's the URL?"

Basically, it's progressive rock, but if you want to be more detailed you would say it's progressive metal. You can look up progressive rock on google if you want to know about it...it's so difficult to pin down what the genre is (you sort of have to experience it to understand the culture). A defining characteristic of prog rock is changing time signatures during the song. Lots of people would describe progressive rock as "weird" or "this doesn't sound right", and some of it gets labeled "boring." It tends to be longer and more elaborate than standard pop music, and not good if you have a short attention span or want easy listening.

It gets airtime rarely.
As you can see, I love talking about it, but it's kind of depressing that nobody I know takes interest in this kind of music (I'm more or less alone). If you don't like what you're hearing on auralmoon at one given moment, it's worth taking the time to try again later or stick around longer...they play such a vast variety of different types of music that any one part isn't representative of the whole (some of the stuff I don't particularly care for either, but other bands drive me wild).

I'm not really a fan myself, but i have a buddy whose _favorite_ band is Dreamtheater, i'll have to tell him the news (if he doesn't know already)

Glad to hear it.

I'm a huge fan myself, but this album took me by surprise; I hadn't much about the upcoming release (their site had been themed to their last album for almost a year, and it had gotten rather boring). I went there one day out of boredom to discover it was different. Could be there are some fans that don't know, but I guess a true DT nut would subscribe to some newsletter or visit forums about it.

Although I don't like the new album that much(and i had big expectations for it) it is a decent release.. Enough about that
I was wondering if there is someone(or somewhere) that can make a theme for blackbox from the new album ? Or if you know some place that i can get such themes..from bands etc..AWAKE would be great for a theme so..any ideas ?
