hey guys
i have got a live knoppix games iso image
i copied all the files to another blank hard disk and connected it and tried to play it .... ...

Knoppix live cd
hey guys
i have got a live knoppix games iso image
i copied all the files to another blank hard disk and connected it and tried to play it .... i removed the old hard disk so that only the linux hard disk was connected ............but it did not boot automatically.....what is the prob??????????

you still need a bootloader, such as GRUB (not sure which one knoppix uses)
intalled to the Master Boot Record or to a floppy disc.

Copying the files won't work to get you a bootable disk.
You have to burn the iso to the disc.
That way info gets put on the MBR of the cd.How to know if you are a geek.

And after you boot from the CD you can run an included script (sorry, don't remember the script - they changed it several versions ago) to install it to your hard drive.

why not just download the ISOs to a distro and install it?

Knoppix live cd
hey guys does anyone know what is that bootloader and what is the procedure for getting that ...................................how to install that and all that..............

If you want a hard drive installation of a knoppix-based liveCD, burn the ISO to a CD as a disk image (don't open the ISO and burn the files or just put the ISO on the disk as a file). After that, boot from the liveCD and run the knoppix installer script to put it on the hard drive...it should do most of the work for you.

When you put the Knoppix cd in and you get the boot: prompt, type "knx2hd /dev/hdxx"
Replace xx with the partition you want to install to.How to know if you are a geek.
