It's an amazing instrument; when you're into it, and you start to get a grasp of what you have to work with, you can have a lot of fun. I started to learn the tabla at first (an Indian instrument that consists of a pair of drums that you play with both hands; the drums are a bass drum and a high-pitched drum) but I found it wasn't versatile enough in terms of the sounds it could produce (and THAT instrument is practically impossible to learn without a teacher). So I tried the guitar and fell in love after a year once I got the acoustic.

I play Piano, Tabla and Synth.
I enjoy playing tabla as it requires lot of energy and practice.
Hope I can compete with the great Indian Mastero one fine day.

I took up electric guitar this year, but I haven't managed to get the kind of sound I want or to build up a disciplined practice routine. I already play an acoustic so that helps a lot with technique, though using a plectrum is a bit of a culture shock ... I'm used to finger picking.
I've played around with power chords and improvising some blues licks, but have a very long way to go. It's better to start when you're younger, but I won't let that stop me.

I play guitar now, am a fingerpicker by style. Used to dabble in piano, recorder and violin when I was a kid but I am too lazy to practice so thats when I picked up the guitar, the instrument of mediocre musicians.

I play a black Fat Strat, but haven't practiced for a while because I've been busy with classes.
