    Musicians on board?

It's always seemed to me that any given group of IT/technical/computer people I've come across will have a higher percentage of talented musicians than your average population.

So how about it? How many/which instruments do you play? What style of music?

I play either blues guitar or shred guitar depending on what personality my schizophrenia has chosen for me.

I didn't find the links very enlightening. It seems that shred guitar
is a form of electric guitar , right ? But how is it different from a "normal"
electric guitar ? Does it sound different ? Does it cover a different
    range of frequencies ?

I apologize. I chose those links without fully thinking. Shred is electric, but it is more technical (think scales and really hard, fast licks) based than feel (like blues). Neo-classical and Shred music is very fast by nature and is something you might have heard during the 80s in various metal solos.
This is becoming more complicated than I had figured. Basically, just think of shred as rock guitar. Think Zakk Wylde (Ozzy), John Petrucci (Dream Theater). If you want to hear some samples, go to www.jasonbecker.com and click on "Never Heard Recordings" to hear some sample mp3s which I think reflect shred real well. If that still isn't enough, I'd be happy to send you some samples that I have....
