Always do as the forum commands . . .

So when the forum sends you an email telling you to introduce yourself, you really can't deny.

So, I'll just puke up some fun facts about me, so you know where I'm coming from.

    Name: Benjamin Kaufman
    Location: Beaverton, OR (N 45 26.285 W 122 49.464)
Occupation: Contractor. I bounce from contract to contract, working in the silicon Forest.
    People I've worked for include:
    Siemens
    Freightliner
    Nike
    Oregon Department of Transportation
    Intel (Current Job)
    DirecTV Broadband (Out of business)
Transport Logic (Bought by First world, then sunk)
there are more, but those are the highlights.

Linux Experience: Very limited as of recent. I've mostly dwelled in the land of FreeBSD. But, I have used and administered linux machines in the past. Currently, the only linux in my life is my leased web server.

    Domains I own:
I'm a domain whore, and stepping into the web marketing biz a bit. So, I have more than my share.

    http://maniacallaughter.com - My Personal site.
    http://alderflats.com - Where I showcase my photography
http://forumpics.info - Where I keep all the funny and offensive forum typ epics I have in my collection.
http://baby-jesus.info - Funny images, pertaining to Jesus
http://unixconfigs.com - soon to be a unix config file wiki
http://n4rc.com - some clan I used to be in, now they are defunct and the domain will likely die this year.
http://itsjustfood.net - a couple friends who are in thailand, needed a way to blog about thier experiences in a way thier family could understand. So, this is it.

Avocational Geeking: I have been a contributer to http://distributed.net since January 1st, 2000. Soon after, I stepped on as staff. Since then I've done mostly done support, but also stepped in and done some documentation work.

Misc details: I know more about cars, than computers. I'd rather spend the weekend in the mountains, than in my computer room. The image I use as my avatar is me, in the woods. (I was at N 45 50.232 W 123 20.320 if there are any GPS geeks who might be wondering.) I hunt, I camp, I hike, I take pictures, I make my own liquours, I climb mountains, and I'm a marksman, and I geocache.
