For some reason I never went into any BBSes. Can't remember why, but I think it was because we didn't have any in Brazil. I do remember that we connected to the net through a 7200bps (or something along that speed, it was about half the 14.4kbps modems) internal modem (which was really nice compared to the external modems).

Yeah, I think my first modem was a 9600 baud. I remember playing empire with my buddy down the street...it was horrid, but so cool back then. When I went to college I remember dropping close to $100 on a 14.4 so I could play doom deathmatch with a guy down the hall in the dorm...crazy...
