Have you installed libdvdcss and libdvdread? You will need to install these packages to allow reading the encrypted systems. Note two things though,
    • This allows for direct block access and does not support mounting.
    • This will allow you to play multi region

I searced my RPMDRAKE tool and I dont have libdvdcss but do have libdvdread. I'll have to find libdvdcss.

What exactly does direct block access mean and the fact that it doesnt support mounting?

    Thanks,

Grab libdvdcss and libdvdread. I used www.rpmfind.net to find both.

THe fact you don't need to mount because of the direct block access, which means you can plonck in the dvd and fire up kaffine and it will play, without you having to mount the dvd with e.g.
    Code:
    mount /dev/dvd /mnt/dvd
