Is this not what happens everytime with MS they promise the world then deliver something else and try to add featerues as they go or have thoes value added features that pop up outta nowhere just to annoy you! Is this not thair buisness model? Why did we expect anything revolutionary? We should of expected it from a company that makes most of it's money from tech support! And still charges for it's OS.

As for me, as long as games continue to work with xp i've no need to upgrade. In fact I've been considering downgrading (or upgrading depending which way you look at it) to win2000 because I always remember win2k as being more stable and less resource hungry then XP.

i have been phasing windows out slowly over time as it is so maybe this is the version i finally quit using windows entirely at. i have been wanting to get away from windows for some time. longhorn has been a complete rewrite however it still is a M$ product and will most likely cost a fortune for the ametuer edition and double a fortune for the more than ametuer version.

Someone gave me a beta of longhorn about a month ago, still haven't been bothered installing it. Happy with SuSE for everything but Games, but I may just get an ethernet adapter for my PS2 to make it up.

    or is that downgrade?
Here's why Linux is easier than Windows:
Package Managers! Apt-Get and Portage (among others) allow users to install programs MUCH easier than Windows can.
Hardware Drivers. In SuSE, ALL the hardware is detected and installed automatically! How is this harder than Windows' constant disc changing and rebooting?
