Sorry to say I still do. I have no choice. The majority of the CNC machines (Biesse) that I use can only have files transferred to it by a floppy. There are several reasons for this. One is security as the machine is not connected to the network or internet, The second reason is that most CNC manufacturers only supply CPU's that are several years old and are well tested and stable with their software.
Fortunately, floppies are dirt cheap.

I have a pack that I use and reuse pretty regularly for school simply because the computers there seem to like it more than the CD-Rs that I use there. Stupid university computers in the lab.

I remember way back in the prehistoric era that the 5.25 floppies we used were only 180k. Then we learned that if you used a hole punch you could get a capacity of 360k if you flipped it over in the drive.
I feel old...........

Damn. I haven't seen a 5.25 in like years upon years man. I remember when I was using them to play Oregon Trail when I was in like 3rd grade. And what was funny is that I kept looking at it and saying...that really doesn't look like a 3.5 lol.
