you should try infromational, its so much more productive and educational. haha, but i as well would like to know this, currently, i need two books to read before school starts for school. unfortunatly, these two books have already been all checked out by all the other kids. this always happens, how retarded is this. i was hoping they would be up on the net. i still need more searching, but its interesting that this thread was started just when i started looking.

Trust me, I'm a librarian This isn't computer related stuff though. I know there are free sci fi books online, but can't remember the site's name.

I'm a huge fan of fantasy and sci-fi.

If you're looking for some good fantasy, I wholeheartedly recommend:

    - The Riftwar Saga by Raymond E. Feist (first book is "Magician: Apprentice")
    - The Shannara Series by Terry Brooks (first book is "The Sword of Shannara")
    - The Wayfarer Redemption Series by Sara Douglass (first book is "The Wayfarer Redemption")
    - The Wheel of Time Series by Robert Jordan (first book is "Eye of the World")

Also, if you're into King Arthur at all, read The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley. An amazingly awesome book. Amazingly.

If you have a library card you could go online to your libraries website and read the books online. Here in Pennsylvania it is setup that way. Also here it is not necessary to have a library card to read all of the books. And some colleges have their libraries setup the same way for instance: http://etext.lib.virginia.edu
