How do you identify posters?
I always tell them apart by avatars.

I was just thinking that exact same question this morning! Mainly because I can't remember anyone's name even in person, but I can remember what they look like.

I know a lot of posters by name, but I discovered when a few long term members changed avatar that I was like who are you? How did you get 1500 posts! Took a while but then I remembered their names...

Avatars usually. It just works well for some reason. But then again, when someone changes their handle I still call them by the old one out of habit. Go figure....

name for me. I've been around this particular forum long enough to notice 2 or 3 avatar changes for some folks (myself included), so that's not a very good metric IMO.
