    My avg speed is 7 KB and it takes 1 day+ to download a iso image.

    That depends on where you're talking about. At work, I have a government trunk line, so it's pretty fast. I think my best sustained download rate for an ISO file was around 1.5MB/s.

    At home it's a different story. I live in the middle of nowhere and all we can manage to get out there is very crappy (<=19.2kb/s) dialup. I do all my downloading at work.

    I've been doing 1.5MB/s for the last couple years, but thinking about going with 3.0MB/s.

    Just measured my new DSL provider last night - the results came in at 680 Kb/s. Not great, but much more than I will ever need (and probably much more than any ftp mirror can give me anyway).

    depending on site, sometimes i can get up to 200kb/s on a bittorent

    cable with brighthouse in the middle of nowhere...it gets us around 600kb/s constant
