    Gnome themes and root browser icons

    Why do the vast majority of Gnome themes remove the individual icons from the root browser? Instead of appropriate icons, all files and folders are represented by page icons. The default theme doesn't do this, and a few custom themes don't, but the vast majority of custom themes do. What's up with this?

    Why would you need them when being root?
    Root is not for everyday use.
    Just maintenance and troubleshooting.
    Some systems won't even let you log into X as root. I am sure you could find a way around this. but why?
