I have an integrated 6 channel audio card(on an Abit VT7 mobo). However my spouse has an M-Audio Delta 1010 for music recording.
I just use mine for games and movies.

unless you're in the professional music/media buisness, i really dont see any reason to buy an expensive soundcard.

I'm "trying" to use my external Tascam USB soundcard. It's over $100 and very necessary for my recording adventure.

Creative Live! 5.1, but I did buy it when I had a mobo with no integrated 5.1...
