Anytime a business sets up a campaign to discredit another company (software in this case), it is pretty obvious your company/software has gotten the attention of the company doing the hating.
When you send executives from country to country trying to persuade/threaten them to stay with windows, you have gotten their attention.
Linux has definitly gotten Microsofts attention. The problem for Microsoft is that they really don't have a company to fight, how do you fight very good and free software. Oh sure there is SCO (*smacks lips* please), but when you fight this long it means change is coming because change is always a strong, and hard fight (think rock & roll, or rap music, Gaza strip etc... hard changes were they not.)
