Linux Smart Phones in the US

i started looking around to see if there was a linux smart phone to upgrade to from my current Nokia P.O.S. (free phone) the next time i upgrade. i cant find any. i am a cingular customer and cingular boasts no linux based smart phones. motorola nokia samsung all do not make one either. the only thing is i know they exist but apparently only in asia. what is the deal here? why is this move so slow to happen here?

that is where i looked but if you read the info on each phone they are only being sold in asian countries. i cant find anywhere where cingular sells or gives service to one.
