    i think im finnaly ready.......

ok guys.... <<lets out a big breath>> i think im ready for the change... i think its time to go full linux. i recentally bought a laptop and put just SuSE 9.3 on it. not dual boot or anything. thus forcing me to figure diffrent problems out as they come along and making me not have to ability to switching to windows if i cant do somehting. well over this course of time ive expermented with wine and cedega and stuff to find that all the apps that ive been keeping windows around for, (mostly dvd shrink and a few others) worke fine under wine or something. and the games that i play work fine too.
now my main desktop is dual boot between linux and windows and ive been using my lap top primarally and consistantally for a long time now. i only got on my desktop to play half life 2 kause thats what had my save file on it. anyways... i think im going to see if i can go 3 months on just linux and not use windows. i belive im ready to switch over and turn 100% linux. if i can make it that long i know ill be ready (maby secretally ill keep a windows partition on my desktop.. jus incase.... maby... i dunno... its a verry verry scarey thought for me.... ) but yea.... just maby...

It can be a scary thing but especially if you have used Windows for a long time.

But if you can do it, it is a great feeling.

coolness, I still keep Windows on a small partition to play World of Warcraft and Half-Life 2 though. If you can live without gaming (I can't live without WoW hehe) then you should feel comfortable leaving it all behind you and going to just Linux.

Ive used Free/NetBSD on the desktop (before that slackware and debian) for more than two months, you gradually get used to the prospect of not using windows.

I went for a good 6 months using no windows at all at home (at school I didnt have much of a choice, though there was ONE fedora box that i used whenever i could)

then, i went to college, and windows xp is required to connect to their wireless network (I got linux working once, have yet to repeat the feat) so i'm back to the wonderful world of dual-booting.

I plan on finding the SLUG (Student Linux Users Group) as I know this school has one. Surely they know better ways to connect to the wireless.
