What is this guy on about????

Reason number one: Linux is too complicated
OK, i can kinda understand this from a beginners point of view. in comparison to windows, it CAN be complidated, though doesn't have to be!

Reason number two: Linux is a pain to set up
If u get the wrong distro (eg gentoo or LFS) Yes, it is (again in comparison to windows) But something like SuSE? That's no more a pain than windows IMO!!

Reason number three: Linux doesn't have enough applications
    one word....... Sourceforge??

Reason number 4: Linux isn't secure
Does he mean that virii can wipe your entire system or something? As far as i know, it's t'other way round!

    finally

Reason number 5: Linux is more expensive
HOW? Maybe if u get a server version. But then at least u dont then have to go and fork out for Office, or a C development program

I cant make my mind up wether i like posts like that.

I mean it puts the people who are half heartedly thinking about it off. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing.... since a lot of them will (possibly) require alot of help, and be the sorts (IMO) that need to learn about google!

Anyway, enough of a rant for now!!

You are aware that it's a joke, right? His supports are disproving each of the reasons :P.

    I liked it .

I got a good laugh out of it.
Of course I knew he wasn't serious about not using Linux after the very first point.
Compare that with Windows where, it's possible -- not likely, but possible -- that you'll need to use a command line now and again, or edit the Windows registry, where, as they like to tell you, one wrong move could destroy your system forever.
I am sure some of you have had to get into the registry on a Windows box, What a nightmare.

    haahah sdousley skimmed the reading!

I occasionally skim pages of text when studying for tests and that's how I usually fail them

Not everything is a Linux bash, and if the link that space posted was a linux bash then this thread would have already been locked by now, hah.

    User friendly ???

Some of Novice guys will say "Linux is n't user friendly".

    For them my reply is:

    A simple example:

When I buy a new cell phone, Always at the first time it will not be user friendly. As I get in to use it frequently It becomes User friendly.
If i 'm a regular user of Nokia , I will say It is user friendly. For LG users it is thier User friendly.

The same applies to OS too.

But there are some fellows who never use Linux before and They will say
"Linux is not user friendly, So i am not Using Linux".

How Bad ? Is n't it
