    That was rather good.

    It's not the fact that a condescending animated disposable office supply object is trying to give me advice that really annoys me; it's that the paper clip and his buddies take total control by default and inhibit productivity. Want to use him to search for a help file? Clippy Trebek reminds you that your search term must be in the form of a question. Trying to write a letter? Clippy sees all, and there will be no Dear <recipient> lines without his input. Even worse is that the animated buddies seemingly defy the windows GUI by existing without a window and corresponding title bar, and by not immediately closing when you tell them to, but remaining long enough to wink or walk away.


    But why am I ranting here? This isn't anything anyone else doesn't already know.


    I'm not sure how many of you read UserFriendly, but they had at least two occasions where Clippy invades - One where he does indeed appear in vi, and another where he denies the existence of anything outside his spelling dictionary.
