How many people have you presuaded to use Linux?

None, but I have tried...

I did convince one friend to use Mepis, but eventually she found Hotmail on Thunderbird to be too buggy (damn Hotmail...), so she gave up.

I don't believe we should try to convince people to use Linux unless they express some interest in a Windows alternative or have an extremely old computer.

Yeah, we can have our own website, and our own get the facts campaign that is ubeleiveable wrong and biased.

i have shown people my linux box, all of them seemed to like it, 2 of my friends decided to use Knoppix, My dad decided to install SuSE on his laptop after he saw how polished it was.

So, in total, I have shown many people linux, but 3 of them decided to take up using it of their own accord.

I've gotten my friend to try it out, not with much luck though. I don't know If he'll try it again or not, but If he does it'll be awhile.

I might have one soon... he asked his mom about it and he said she said she was afraid of a virus, even when it isn't her computer Might be able to get some sense through to her.

I got a friend to try linux, and he uses it, and am trying to convince the folks to switch over.

My success (4 people) is attributed to the fact that I taught UNIx and GNU/Linux classes for a couple of years. Some of my students installed it and used it at home (Red Hat 7.3 - so it was a while ago). But they kept on using it so I think it stuck.
